Reappraisal notices have been mailed out on real estate property for the 2025 assessment year.  Here are a few tips on understanding the homestead information on your notice:

If your real property in Cleburne County is not your Principal place of residence,  the notice will not answer the homestead questions.  Therefore, it will not show yes where it asks if you are over 65 nor will it show yes, if you receive social security disability.  The homestead act allows a frozen assessed value for either being over 65 or for being on social security disability on your principal place of residence.  If your notice shows a yes on one of these, then the assessed value on your parcel is frozen.  Reappraisal notices will never show DAV exemption.  DAV exemption is taken care of in the Collector's Office not the Assessor's Office.
